I am a male 38 yrs old and my LDL is 152

An LDL of 152 is good. You really don't need to lower it anymore than that. But, eat less red meat, dairy products, animal products in general. Increase your fruit, vegetable, and fiber intake. Eat fresh seafood high in Omega 3. Take a fish oil supplement. Hope that helps. Take care!

**I just found this great website for lowering your LDL naturally. Check it out, it has some great ideas.

What are some foods to reduce cholesterol or healthy to eat while watching your cholesterol?

My mother is 81 years old, of Danish and British decent, lives in USA. She has extremely high cholesterol. The pills, from Zorcor to Niacin, give her legs cramps that are very severe. She eats a miminum of meat, but she does eat meat or fish or pultry every day.

Does anyone have experience with becomming a strict vegetarian that their cholesterol has significantly been reduced? (With this I mean no protein from living things at all.) Or will her body produce even more cholesterol? Any other ideas? She eats like a bird. She takes pills from high blood pressure, her tummy and pain pills. Thanks for any ideas about this subject.

Taper her meat and fat portions until there are almost none.

Get her some potassium pills and make sure she is getting bananas, oranges and tomatoes. The leg cramps are from low potassium. Not taking in food can cause some of these problems.

She must keep drinking lots of water to keep flushing all of the toxins out of her system. Without plenty of water the medicines can actually do damage to her stomach. Good Luck
